Jawa is planning to work on an electric motorcycle that they are expected to introduce to the Indian market by the year 2022. According to the sources, the rendering of the electric motorcycle is ready and it can be launched with the branding of either Jawa or Yezdi. Even brands like Yamaha have also recently declared to introduce an electric bike platform in India soon.
Even if there’s no official information regarding the launch of the electric motorcycle, the render images showcase that the bike will still carry the retro style but also come with a zero-emission electric motor. Unlike other brands, Jawa is not going to offer any futuristic design to the motorcycle and continue to offer the retro feel to its customers.
According to the render images, the battery pack will be covered with a large casing and other critical components such as the charging spot can be placed near the fuel tank. In addition to that, the electric motorcycle might share a few components with the existing petrol bikes such as brakes, suspensions, body panels and more.
In this way, the brand will be able to keep the cost of manufacturing under the budget and will be able to offer the bikes at an affordable price point. If we have a look at the rendering that it can be spotted that the position of the footpegs and handlebar remains exactly the same as the existing bike that will aid in offering an upright and comfortable riding position, which will be helpful in long rides.
Talking about long tours, the brand must be offering less charging time and more range and also a high capacity battery pack so that the rider can cover miles without worrying about running out of charge.
Earlier, it was planned that the brand Yezdi will be revived with an electric motorcycle in India. However, current reports say that the brand will be revived in the festive season this year but with a 300cc petrol-powered motorcycle.
