Tork Motors is a Pune-based EV startup, and in the year 2016, they declared to start the pre-bookings of their electric motorcycle, the T6X. However, things did not go as planned, and there were no updates from the brand.
However, as the EV segment in India has seen a recent boom, the founder of Tork Motor says that the electric bikes are ready to launch. Five years ago, the brand launched the T6X at a price point of Rs 1.25.
According to the sources, the brand received a good response of around 1000 bookings within 24 hours after the launch. But, due to operational issues and financial challenges, there was a production delay, due to which they were not able to serve the demand of the customers.
Another interesting fact about Tork Motors is that it is one of the first electric manufacturers in India and has developed everything from scratch. The electric motorcycle will now be offered with a plethora of modern features and a robust powertrain.
The founder of Tork Motors, Kapil Shelke, said, “We are ready to step out of stealth mode. As promised, we are ready to deliver the best in class product to our customers. This took longer than anticipated, but good things take time. he motorcycle structure has completely changed, with a redesigned LED headlight and tail-light, new switch cluster, larger battery pack, more 'Tork' and more power.”
Talking about the technical specifications, the brand claimed that it could achieve a top speed of 100 kmph. However, if we talk about the range, it can only return 100km, which is not impressive if we compare it to the competition.
In 2016, the brand revealed that it would come equipped with an electric motor that can generate a maximum output of 27 Nm. The electric motorcycle will weigh around 130 kg, which is quite decent and will be easy to ride inside the city.
The founder claims that the electric motorcycle will not be manufactured at Pune. Rather, it will be done at a newly built plant. The exact pricing and launch date have not been revealed yet.
