The British two-wheeler manufacturer, Triumph has revealed its smallest adventure motorcycle, the 2022 Tiger Sport 660, across the globe. The brand is adding various new motorcycles to its portfolio as it recently launched the stunning Speed Triple 1200 RR.
According to the brand, the Tiger Sport 660 will be an entry-level motorcycle in the Tiger lineup and will focus more on the road. The brand has designed it for long-distance touring, and the motorcycle's design completely serves the purpose.
Even if it is not a hardcore off-roader, it can tackle decent off-roading, unlike its bigger siblings. The brand has also teased the 2021 Street Scrambler ahead of its launch. The motorcycle shares plenty of components from the newly launched Triumph Trident 660.
Having said that, it gets the same 660 cc engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 80bhp at 10,250rpm and a peak torque of 64Nm at 6250rpm. The figures are the same as Trident 660. It also shares the same six-speed gearbox for transmission duties.
The motorcycle's design is very practical as it comes with a taller windscreen to deflect the windblast at cruising speeds. It also comes with twin LED headlamps that sit inside the front fairing.
The chassis gets the same tubular steel perimeter frame as we get on the Trident 660. Moreover, the braking setup is also the same as it comes with 310mm twin discs at the front and a 255mm disc at the rear.
The suspension duties are handled by 41mm USD Showa forks at the front and a Showa monoshock at the rear that flaunts preload adjustability. The kerb weight of the motorcycle is 206 kg, which is 17 kg heavier, thanks to the addition of fairing and other components.
The brand will offer more than 40 accessories, including a two-helmet top box, full-integrated panniers, an under-seat USB charger, scrolling indicators, heated palm grips, and more.
It comes with a big 17.2 L fuel tank. Moving to the dimensions, it gets a wheelbase of 1418mm, and the seat height of the motorcycle is 835 mm. Moreover, it flaunts a multifunction TFT instrument cluster that shows a plethora of information.
The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 also gets smartphone connectivity, which allows the rider to stream music, get turn-by-turn navigation and more. You also get two riding modes - Road and Rain.
The adventure motorcycle will be available in three dual paint options - Korosi Red and Graphite, Lucerne Blue and Sapphire Black, and Graphite and Black. There’s no information regarding the exact launch date and pricing. However, we expect it to be priced at around Rs. 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
