Just after the news broke about the LML Scooters making a comeback in the Indian market with an electric scooter, Ultraviolette has announced that its first-ever electric bike offering for India is set to launch in March 2022. This would be the F77, an electric motorcycle that was first showcased back in 2019.
The Ultraviolette F77 is set to be a sporty electric motorcycle for young guns. It has not been confirmed yet, but the performance of the model could put any 200cc ICE motorcycle to shame. It could have an acceleration figure of 0-60 kmph in around 2.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 140 kmph. If these figures are true, this F77 could be the sportiest and fastest electric motorcycle to get on sale in the country.
Apart from the mechanism, the electronic package in the motorcycle could be fascinating to wait for. Some of the features that could make their way are riding modes, navigation, ride diagnostic, over-the-air upgrades and regenerative braking.
Scenes are quite similar to LML Electric. With a significant investment from a partner, the company is working towards bringing a premium electric scooter in the country, though it is still time before it happens.
For now, Ultraviolette is setting up a production facility in India, at the outskirts of Bangalore near Electronic City. The first batch of the Ultraviolette F77 is expected to start by the Q1 of next year and the deliveries could begin by March. For now, the brand’s manufacturing unit has a total production strength of 15,000 a year (for the first year). However, there are plans that the company is looking to increase its strength to 1.2 lakhs in the coming future.
